Douglas Harter of Parsippany-Troy Hills died last Wednesday at the Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. He was 28 years old.

Harter was born in Belleville, but lived in Parsippany for his entire life.

 A 2002 graduate of Parsippany High School, Harter worked as a mechanic.

Survivors include his parents Robert E. Harter of Jackson and Anita E. Smith Harter of Parsippany, along with aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

Viewings will be held Monday from 2-4 p.m. and -9 p.m. at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road.

A funeral service for Harter takes place Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover.
