Parsippany Presbyterian Puts House in Order Post-Sandy

Parsippany Presbyterian Church wants its members to know important information: Because of recent storms, the church is postponing its congregational meeting to immediately after the Dec. 2 10 a.m. worship service.

The church asked members to pass along news of the postponement.

Church leaders reported that they are still coping with post-storm repairs. Damage to the roof of the building has been fixed, but leaders said a number of "dangerously positioned" trees must be removed for safety's sake.

Additionally, PPC leaders said they must work with the church's insurance company to assess damage to the steeple.

An all-hands work day will take place at the church, 1675 Route 46, on Nov. 24 from 9 a.m.-noon to clear debris from the cemetery and meadow. Also, the leadership said extra donations are needed to pay for the tree work, which a church statement said must be done by professionals, but is not covered by insurance.

Parsippany Presbyterian is known for its participation in storm and disaster relief efforts in Parsippany, New Jersey, New Orleans and Nashville.
