Parishioners at St. Ann's Parish in Parsippany stepped up to show the best of the holiday giving spirit.

Over the course of November, church members donated enough food to fill more 80 baskets. The collected items were distributed to families and organizations that support the needy for Thanksgiving.  

The church was not alone in its generosity: Cub Scout Pack 177 of Parsippany contributed to St. Ann's collection and the Cub Scout Dens 2 and 5 helped sort the food.

The baskets contained rice, potatoes, yams, soup, canned vegetables, canned fruits, gravy, cranberry sauce, jello, stuffing and a full-size turkey, enabling low-income and working-poor families to enjoy a traditional holiday supper.
