72 Photos: Alice Cooper Comes to Morristown
The hard rock Hall of Fame performer came to The Community Theatre on Aug. 15
Alice Cooper has been performing for audiences for more than four decades. And on Monday night, a rousing audience came to The Community Theatre in Morristown to see the 63-year-old Detroit native perform from his extensive back catalog of material.
Alice Cooper, born Vincent Furnier, entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. With a music catalog of over 400 songs, 27 studio albums and 11 top 40 hits, Alice Cooper is still doing what he does best: hard theatrical rock with a wry smile.
The band that performed on this night included a special treat for many in guitarist Steve Hunter, who has played with legends Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel, David Lee Roth, Bette Midler and Aerosmith. He was also the guitarist on five of Alice Cooper's albums.

I am wondering if the Patch could post more events likes this before they happen??? That would be great.....cause I'm always on the Patch & have been telling more & more friends about it! It is a great resource!

It was yet another great show by the rock legend!
The only down side was the audience who appeared as if they were going to a Debby Boone concert instead of an Alice Cooper concert.
They didn't even stand throughout the show, until very near the end.
In fact, at one point a woman (who was very nice and polite) asked if I would sit down and I politely told her that I wouldn't be sitting this evening. She asked, "what about the people behind me?" I aked her to inform them that they were at a rock and roll concert and it is not unusual to stand...the band actually prefers itt hat way.
The whole affair reminded me of the JOhn Lennon quote, where he said...
"For our last number, I'd like to ask your help. Would the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands. And the rest of you, if you'll, just rattle your jewelry."
I was embarrassed for them...perhaps they should ahve stayed home and did shots of Geritol and watch reruns of Lawrence Welk.
In the end, my focused remainder squrely on what was happening on stage and that was a picture perfect performance...well worth standing and cheering for.
