Scout Leader Charged With Exposing Boy to Child Porn
Stephen Corcoran allegedly invited minor over and was in possession of images, videos.
A Parsippany Boy Scout leader has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly showing child pornography to a boy.
Stephen Corcoran, 44, of Morris Plains, was arrested and charged Friday with second degree distribution of child pornography, as well as fourth degree possession of child pornography, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi
According to an affidavit on file with the Morris County Court, the prosecutor’s office conducted an interview with a boy who said Corcoran invited him over to his home in October and showed him child pornography.
The affidavit says an investigation of Corcoran’s computer revealed images of nude underage males, as well as videos of underage males engaging in various sex acts.
On the website of Troop 173, which serves mainly Parsippany, Corcoran is listed as assistant scout master. The site also says the troop serves other Morris County towns to a lesser degree.
On a public LinkedIn profile, Corcoran is listed as Manager of US Wintel Infrastructure Information Enterprise Services for Deutsche Bank. Under groups and associations, he has "BoyScout Troop 173 Parsippany" listed.
The Morris County Prosecutor's Office Sex Crimes and Child Endangerment Unit and the Parsippany Police Department made the arrest.
