Car Strikes Tree Off Route 46, Causes Delays

Vehicle went off roadway near Baldwin Road during Friday evening rush hour.

A car drove off Route 46 and struck a tree near Baldwin Road during Friday evening's rush hour.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a dark green Honda traveling westbound on Route 46 ran into a thicket of brush and trees just ahead of the ramp to Baldwin Road.

Parsippany Police called the accident "serious" that heavily slowed Friday evening  traffic in the area.

PPD officers and investigators from the Morris County Sheriff's Office were on the scene.

Police would not confirm whether the driver was injured in the accident.

If the Morris County Sheriff's Office was assisting it is safe to assume there were injuries, more than likely serious, and they were documenting the scene in case this is a fatal accidnt and/or criminal charges follow.
