Dine Out for CASA, Council and Zoning Board Meet and More This Week

Events taking place in the township this week

 

It's Make a Difference Monday! Treat yourself to a casual lunch or dinner at Parsippany Patch Readers' Choice Best Italian Restaurant winner Gourmet Café. You pay $15, and proceeds benefit CASA of Morris and Sussex Counties, Inc., a nonprofit organization that advocates for abused and neglected children in foster care. Parsippany Lacrosse Club Clinic Registration is open to the public all day Monday through Saturday at Jannarone Park at Cranberry Road & Walsh Drive; the cost is $50.

PAL Football and Cheer Registration takes place all day Monday through Saturday at the Parsippany Police Athletic League at 33 Baldwin Road; there is no cost to register.

Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors, a free peer-led volunteer support group for people actively looking for work meets Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Library, Lake Hiawatha Branch at 68 Nokomis Ave. in Hiawatha.

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council holds its agenda meeting Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The gathering, to which the public is invited, is for cementing the agenda for next week's council business meeting.

PSGMC peer support group for job seekers meets Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library at 449 Halsey Road to hear guest speakers well-versed in all facets of career search and development.

Educational support center C2 Education holds its grand opening Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at 200 Baldwin Rd Unit 122. The new center provides local families access to a wide range of academic services, including subject tutoring, standardized test preparation, college admissions counseling, and academic counseling. For more information about C2 Education Parsippany, its locations and its services, visit www.c2educate.com. 

Building matters, residential and commercial, are up for discussion when the Zoning Board of Adjustment meets Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The agenda states that the ZBA may take up the case of the multi-use Arya Village complex at 1571 Route 46.

Parsippany Farmers Market takes place this Friday (and every Friday during summer) in the parking lot at Town Hall from 1-7 p.m. Shoppers will find fresh produce and country food products from Stony Hill Farm as well as alpaca wear from Hickory Ridge Alpaca Farm.

Try your luck at St. Peter the Apostle Church's Weekly Summer Bingo. It's easy to play, you can win prizes and it's free! The event is held Sundays through the summer from 6-10 p.m. at 179 Baldwin Road.
