Dover Business College Celebrates Summer Graduates

Two Parsippany residents were part of the 200 students receiving diplomas.

More than 200 graduates received diplomas at Dover Business College's summer commencement ceremony July 16. Students including Vinita Patel and William P. Gargano of Parsippany attended school at the college's Clifton and Dover campuses, where they earned career-specific diplomas in the fields of healthcare, business and information technology.

“Many of you have worked or taken care of family members while you attended college, and you have persevered,” Timothy D. Luing, the college's president, told the graduating class. “You went above and beyond to get where you are today. Don’t just be average when you go to work each day. Go above and beyond. Make a difference.”

The commencement speaker was Larry Trenk, chief operating officer of  Surgem LLC. In his address, he told the graduates to take the skills and knowledge they have gained at Dover out into the business world and to always strive to achieve their best.

“Along the way you will meet many challenges,” Trenk said in his speech. “Your ability to deal with adversity, and how you cope with the challenges and demands that are made upon you–both in your personal and professional life–will speak volumes about your character.”

Dover Business College is a nationally accredited private college that has served students for 53 years.
