Knoll Club Worker Injured in Tree-Cutting Accident

Police say the man is hospitalized at Morristown Medical Center because of injuries sustained in the mishap.

A town worker is undergoing treatment at Morristown Medical Center for injuries sustanined on the job early Thursday morning near the Knoll Country Club West, according to Parsippany Police.

A Knoll Club employee reportedly was cutting down a large ash tree just before 7 a.m. when it split and twisted and then fell, trapping the lower part of the man's left leg between it and another tree, according to a police statement.

Police officers responded to the country club, as did emergency medical technicians from Par-Troy EMS-1. Parsippany Rescue and Recovery also was on the scene, using airbags and cribbing to stabilize and lift the tree to allow the victim to be extricated.

The injured man was taken to Morristown Medical Center where he continues to receive treatment, said a police statement.

Police said the extent and severity of the victim’s injury is not known at this time.

Saddened to hear the Knoll Golf Course Employee lost his leg from the knee down. A good hard working guy and a Freak accident. Prayers to him and his family.

There is rumor floating about concerning the nature, extent and severity of the man's injury, and those who know him well enough or who have followed this story are well aware of the situation, but nothing has been confirmed officially. Hence, the extent and severity officially are unknown.

And if the poor gentleman is still hospitalized, can we maintain some dignity along with HIPA compliance?

Its not HIPA is HIPAA, which is a law to protect the privacy of individuals..The HIPAA Privacy Rule provides federal protections for personal health information held by covered entities and gives patients an array of rights with respect to that information. At the same time, the Privacy Rule is balanced so that it permits the disclosure of personal health information needed for patient care and other important purposes.

Therefore, there is no discussion of this person's private medical information.. The law does not directly apply to the news media (unless a media employer acts as a health plan or healthcare provider – by offering onsite medical care, for example; or a reporter works for a publication that is covered – such as a hospital newsletter).

Before spewing "HIPA".. learn what it is..EXACTLY,

Rest assured, I know it well and have litigated it much. Your explanation is nonsense and will not hold up.
But Wow-wee, you caught me with a typo. You feel better?
