Heated Argument Leads to Pair's Arrest, Cops Say

Lake Hiawatha residents charged on New Year's Day for outstanding warrants.

Two Lake Hiawatha residents involved in a loud argument were arrested on New Year's Day for outstanding warrants, Parsippany Police said.

According to a department statement, officers were called to a North Beverwyck Road apartment on a report of loud arguing.

Upon arrival, the officers encountered Pamela Burkart, 41, and Larry C. Guay, 58. They also discovered outstanding warrants against both parties, according to Sgt. Yvonne Christiano, a department spokesperson.

Christiano said Burkart had a $400 warrant out of Paterson for traffic violations, while Guay was wanted on a $150 Morristown warrant for smoking in public.

After their arrests, Christiano said Burkart was released on the authorization of Paterson Police pending a court appearance in court and Guay was turned over to the custody of Morristown Police.
