Irene: Lending A Hand to Those in Need
Collection efforts are underway to assist those who suffered great losses in this weekend's floods.
Efforts are underway to raise funds and collect supplies to help the people flooded out of their homes in lower Lake Hiawatha.
Starting today, donations are being accepted and will be stored at and distributed from Landmark Florist's vacant site at 450 N. Beverwyck Rd. Organizers request of any sort of items: clothing, shoes, canned goods, household and cleaning supplies (bleach is in huge demand), etc.
If you have questions, call Landmark Florist at 973-316-8934 or 973-722-5668.

Additionally, Parsippany Presbyterian Church is the official fiscal agent to manage money donations for local Irene Relief, according to the Rev. Donald Bragg, town chaplain and church pastor.
Bragg said the church has dispatched teams to lower Hiawatha to help families with the recovery process. Any volunteers, even those who do not belong to Parsippany Presbyterian, are welcome to join the effort. To help, call the church at 973-334-7958.
