What? You haven't made weekend plans yet? You have come to the right place if you need ideas for something to do over the next few days. This week, we have a wide variety of arts-related, charitable, educational, health-building or just plain fun activities throughout Parsippany and surrounding communities. We're sure you'll find something in our list that will give you a good reason this weekend to get out of the house.

Power Foods Expo
When/Where: Thursday at 11 a.m. at ShopRite, 808 Route 46, Parsippany
Why Go: To meet the resident dietitian, learn about a healthy way to eat and try new foods
Cost: Free

'The Wiz'
When/Where: Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Ridge High School's Performing Arts Center in Basking Ridge
Why Go: To ease on down the road for a rousing musical version of "The Wizard of Oz" by Front & Center’s Junior and Senior Performing Arts Company
Cost: $20 and $25; buy tickets online or at the door

Free Self Defense Class for Women
When/Where: Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Master Kim's Tiger Tae Kwon Do, Kinnelon Mall, 25 Kinnelon Road, Kinnelon.
Why Go: Because women of all ages can learn easy techniques to defend themselves in potentially dangerous situations
Cost: Free 

Circle of Friends
When/Where: Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 5550 Berkshire Valley Rd, Oak Ridge
Why Go: Because women can meet other women and discuss women things and have coffee and tea
Cost: Free

Watchung Arts Center Artistry of Dance
When/Where: 8 p.m. Friday at the Watchung Arts Center, 108 Stirling Road, Watchung
Why Go: To enjoy championship dancers Sergei and Olga Bezrodnov demonstrating the steps they'll teach in a new series of classes at the center
Cost: Free

Manhattan Comedy Night
When/Where: Friday, 8 p.m. at Mayo Performing Arts Center, Morristown
Why Go: You need a little funny to end a busy week.
Cost: $25

Leader of the Pack: The Ellie Greenwich Musical
When/Where: Friday and Saturday 8 p.m., Sunday 2 p.m. at the Somerset Valley Playhouse
Why Go: To see the story of the woman who wrote 1960s pop-music classics like "Chapel of Love" and "Da Doo Ron Ron"
Cost: $17 adults; $15 seniors and students.

4-H Winter Train Show
When/Where:
 Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m. at the 4-H, 310 Milltown Road, Bridgewater
Why Go: To watch trains move and celebrate the 4-H's train aficionados
Cost: $4 for adults, and $2 for children ages 12 and under

Colonial Cooking Contest
When/Where: Saturday, 10:00 am,  Museum of Early Trades & Crafts, 9 Main St., Madison
Why Go: To research a historic recipe, cook it and enter it in the museum’s annual Colonial Cooking Contest.  
Cost: $5 registration fee

Julie's Mindful Parenting Group
When/Where:
Saturday, 10:30 a.m., Postpartum Place, 55 Main St, Chatham
Why go: To discuss the issues and problems you face as a working mom with experts and peers
Cost: $10

Camp Fair Series
When/Where: Saturday at noon at the Parsippany Holiday Inn, 707 Route 46, Parsippany
Why Go: To get tips on finding the best summer camp for your kids from the  New York Family and the American Camp Association 
Cost: Free

Meet the Patchfinder
When/Where: Saturday from noon-2 p.m. at Waverly Place, Madison
Why Go: To see Patch's own rolling newsroom RV, talk local news with Patch staff, and get T-shirts, water bottles and other must-have swag

Coffee Hour With Jesus
When/Where: Saturday at 6 p.m. at Lake Hopatcong United Methodist Church, 520 Howard Blvd., Lake Hopatcong
Why Go: Because you can hear some live music and bring your questions about Jesus
Cost: Free

Intervale School Texas Hold 'Em Benefit Tournament
When/Where: 
Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Parsippany Police Athletic League, 33 Baldwin Road, Parsippany
Why Go: 
You want to hold 'em like they do in Texas, please.

26th Annual SCAN Concert
When/Where: Saturday, 8 p.m. at Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown
Why Go: You want to support their charity efforts that night; you want to hear good music.

Flapjack Fundraiser
When/Where:
 Sunday at 8 a.m. at Applebee's, 640 Promenade Blvd., Bridgewater
Why Go: To work with the Bridgewater Veterinary Hospital and Camp Bow Wow to raise money for Rawhide Rescue while enjoying a delicious meal of pancakes, sausage and scrambled eggs

Dog Adoption Day at Petsmart
When/Where:
 Sunday at 11 a.m. at Petsmart, 145 Promenade Blvd., Bridgewater
Why Go: To adopt your new best friend
Cost: Free admission, plus costs associated with adopting a pup

Panel Discussion on Ethics
When/Where:  Sunday at 11 a.m., Temple Har Shalom, 104 Mt. Horeb Road, Warren
Why Go: To put on your thinking cap for an in-depth discussion of bio-ethical and legal issues faced by professionals today
Cost: Free

The Intergalactic Nemesis
When/Where: Sunday, 7:30 p.m. at Mayo Performing Arts Center, 100 South St., Morristown
Why Go: You're curious about how potentially awesome a live reading of a graphic novel can be (and, if you're still not convinced, check out this preview).
