Midday Power Outage for About 130 Parsippany Residents

Electrical outage caused by 'broken Verizon pole,' says utility spokesperson.

Power went out for about 130 Parsippany residents in the Normandy Village area Monday afternoon. According to a spokesperson for Jersey Central Power and Light, the outage began just after 1 p.m.

Utility spokesperson Gerry Ricciardi said the outage was the result of "a broken Verizon pole."

He said the blackout affected Normandy Village streets including Citroen Way, Bordeaux Drive and Biscay Drive.

A JCP&L truck was dispatched to the area shortly after 1 p.m., and the repairs were complete by 3:02 p.m., Ricciardi said.
