Montville Teen Faces DWI, Fake ID Charges

A 19-year-old Montville man faces DWI and possession of a fake ID charges after making an illegal U-turn on Route 46 Wednesday morning, Parsippany Police said.
Sgt. Thomas Pomroy conducted a motor vehicle stop of a white Honda driven by Jae Chang while patrolling Route 46 near South Beverwyck Road early Wednesday at about 1 a.m., police said.
Pomroy pulled over Chang after he saw the car make an illegal U-turn, police said. After checking his license and registration and giving the teen a standard field sobriety test, Pomroy saw Chang drop something onto the ground, police said.

The item appeared to be a second New Jersey driver’s license, one with Chang's name and photo, but with a different address and a birthdate that placed him above the legal age to purchase alcohol, police said.
Chang was arrested and faces charges for DWI, reckless driving and possession of a fraudulent driver's license for the purpose of purchasing alcohol, according to the police report. He was released pending an court appearance, police said.
