Parsippany Man Struck By Car in Critical Condition

No word on whether charges will be filed in the case, which is under investigation.

A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car on Route 46 early Friday morning, according to .

Police said the 33-year-old man was crossing from the east to the west side of Route 46 near Crown Point Road just before 3:30 a.m. when he was struck by a four-door silver Audi traveling west on the roadway.

The car's driver is also a Parsippany resident, police said.

As a result of the accident, officials shut down a portion of Route 46 until about 6 a.m., police said.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, according to police. No other details regarding the man's condition are available at this time.

Parsippany Police responded to the scene along with the New Jersey State Police, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Section investigators and Crash Team members, the state Department of Transportation and , which provided lighting for the scene, police said. 

Police said the crash is under investigation by the Parsippany Police Department with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. No charges have been filed in the case at this time.
