Parsippany Remembers 9/11, Adath Shalom Celebrates a New Year and More This Week

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Planning Board gathers for its monthly Workshop Meeting to discuss how building applications match up with the township's Master Plan. The meeting takes place Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.
Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors, a free peer-led volunteer support group for people actively looking for work meets Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Library, Lake Hiawatha Branch at 68 Nokomis Ave. in Hiawatha.
Don't be surprised if the relocation assistance portion of the town's anti-stacking law comes up at Tuesday's Township Council Agenda Meeting. Parsippany's lawmakers meet at Town Hall Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
PSGMC peer support group for job seekers meets Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library at 449 Halsey Road to hear guest speakers well-versed in all facets of career search and development.
Wednesday marks the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center, a Pennsylvania airplane and the Pentagon. Gather with fellow residents as Parsippany holds its own 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at the main entrance of Town Hall at noon. Former Secret Service man and 9/11 hero Dennis Letts will speak, and a new memorial incorporating an actual beam from the old WTC will be on display.
Connie Greene of Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention, along with Robert Goldschlag J.D. will discuss the newly amended Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying Legislation and its implications for schools in Bullying: Breaking the Trend. The free event, for school personnel, parents and law enforcement and will include a continental breakfast, will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at the Morris County Public Safety Academy at 500 W. Hanover Ave. in Parsippany.
The Parsippany Board of Education meets for the first time of the 2012-13 school year. The body discusses educational matters at the BOE building at 292 Parsippany Road Thursday at 7 p.m.
Summer isn't over yet! Parsippany Farmers Market takes place this Friday (and every Friday during summer) in the parking lot at Town Hall from 1-7 p.m. Shoppers will find fresh produce and country food products from Stony Hill Farm as well as alpaca wear from Hickory Ridge Alpaca Farm.

Taking the PSAT this year? Try it first: The Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library offers a Free PSAT Practice Test at the main branch, 449 Halsey Road, Saturday at 2 p.m.
St. Peter the Apostle Church hosts a Celebration of Cultural Richness Sunday at noon. The event will consist of a special Liturgy followed by a "Tasting of the World" on Sunday at 12:00 noon at the church, 179 Baldwin Road.
