Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck On Route 10

Police said crash is still under investigation.

 

The Route 10 crash in which a pedestrian was struck Saturday remains under investigation after the man died from his injuries according to Parsippany Police Ptl. Earl Kinsey.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, was struck by a car in the center lane at Route 10 West and Yacenda Drive just before 2 a.m.

According to a press release sent by Kinsey Wednesday, the pedestrian died after being transported to Morristown Medical Center.

Kinsey said no charges have been filed against the driver, who did stop the vehicle after the crash. Anyone with information on the incident should contact Ptl. Douglas Weidanz of the Parsippany Police Department at 973-263-4300.

Rt. 10 (along with rt. 46) is prob one of the worst roads to walk on. I see people walking along side or across Rt. 10 all the time and it is NOT a place for pedestrians. There are no sidewalks.. and come to think of it, I don't think there are even any crosswalks.

NJ is a very Anti-pedestrian place to be and its not like this person could have used Mass Transit either. Sad to hear. Poor guy.

Let's not be in such a hurry to blame NJ or Parsippany. Of course it is a tragedy that someone died, but why don't we wait for more facts before we make assumptions about how and why it happened.
