Police: Youth Seriously Hurt in Vail Road Incident
Authorities say there's no threat to the community.
A township youth was seriously injured in an incident Monday afternoon at a Vail Road residence, Parsippany Police said.
Several Parsippany police cars were reported at the site at about 1:30 p.m.
An active investigation is underway to determine what happened and why, according to a department spokesperson.
Shortly thereafter, Parsippany High School Principal Natalie Betz made an announcement to students, faculty and staff that a student had been seriously injured that afternoon. Betz said counselors would be available for students in need.
The injured student was not identified.
Police said no further information will be released due to policies regarding "age and patient confidentiality."
The public at large is not in danger, officials assured.
