Poll: Parsippany's Oscar Picks

The Academy Award nominations are out! Which film do Parsippanians consider the year's best?

If you're a movie fan, this is a red letter day: The nominations for this year's Academy Awards were released Tuesday morning. Due to Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences rules, up to 10 films can be nominated for the top cinematic honor, but only if they score a certain level of first-place votes. For that reason, this year there are only nine films vying for the honor of the year's best.

Patch wants to know what you movie fans are thinking. Are you a fan of George Clooney and The Descendants? How about Brad Pitt's baseball flick Moneyball? Or are you among the many who found The Help indispensable? Look at the nominee list below, pick the one you would crown Best Picture and tell us why in the comments. And if your favorite was snubbed, let us know below!

We learn the actual winners on the night of Feb. 26 when the awards are given out at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles.

We need to talk about Kevin should have been nominated but I guess it didn't make the bill. Forget the blockbusters and support Independent Films!
