TELL US: Has Your Power Been Restored?
More than 13,000 still without power in the township; service slowly returning.
Power appears to be returning to residents, slowly.
JCP&L shows said in a release that it has restored power to about 20 percent of its customers in northern and central New Jersey and expects to have the majority of customers restored by Wednesday. It could take up to two weeks for customers in the hardest-hit areas to regain power, the company said.
"The damage from Hurricane Sandy far exceeds what we saw from Hurricane Irene or the October 2011 snowstorm," said JCP&L President Don Lynch in a release. "While we were better prepared for Hurricane Sandy, the damage rivals that experienced during Hurricane Katrina, one of our nation’s most devastating and expensive hurricanes."
How are things going for you? Are you still in the dark? Please share your stories in comments. And if you are having a really tough time, tell us and be sure to let us know what area you are in. Patch will forward the information directly to the mayor.

Power is on the way. Some of Lk.Parsippany came back to life last night. Thanks to the hard working power people. Now I need to replace my food in refrig and freezer.Praying for people in South Jersey (Union Beach). Cooking up food and making ice for our daughter who"s home was hit hard. My husband is heading down tomorrow to help replace damaged walls etc. in her first floor. All appliances need replacing.Using generator to run furnace to dry out walls and floors. Only owned home three weeks.
Parsippany needs to continue to help each other and show what a great community we live in. Enjoy your day!

We are anxiously waiting for power to be restored at Meadowbrook garden apartments, on RT 46 next to Fairfield Inn Hotel since Monday about 6.00 pm it has been terrible these past 3-4 days and nights. There is a fallen tree which has not been cleared so far and i guess will keep the JCP&L crews from doing anything.

Dartford Rd in Sedgefield has seen most of the tree debris cleared and trees cleaned up around wires. Adjacent streets...no activity. I don't know how the power grids work but one might assume the JCPL crews can do their thing soon in this area. Gulf station seems to be ramping up and lines were moderate. Lots of residents with gas cans standing in line. The lack of communication from JCPL on this area is disappointing.

We're also in Mazdabrook in the townhomes and have been without power and heat for almost a week. It's absolutely ridiculous that in this day and age, this power company says they were ill-prepared and there will be no legislative moves to improve that in the future. According to JCP&L, it may be up to another 2 weeks before we have power.

Thank you NJ EMT for your offer. Luckily the other half of the complex got power today but I really appreciate you extending help to me. I am happy to know I have such caring neighbors here in Parsippany. However, I continue to call JCPL and let them know that many of our Parsippany neighbors are still cold and freezing. Stay safe and warm everyone I will continue calling for you!
