UPDATE: Tractor Trailer Takes Out Light Post on Route 46
Police say traffic is again moving freely at eastbound Route 46 and Cherry Hill Road.
Parsippany Police and New Jersey Department of Transportation crews spent much of the evening rush at the scene of an accident at Route 46 and Cherry Hill Road involving a tractor trailer that ran into a lamp post that supported a traffic signal.
The accident occurred close to 5:15 p.m. Thursday when a CRST Premier Transport tractor-trailer apparently attempted to make a right turn from eastbound Route 46 onto Cherry Hill Road and knocked down a metal lamp post.
The truck has been removed from the site, according to police, and traffic is again moving without impediment.
At the time of the accident, however, the vehicle was stuck at an angle at the crash site; a piece of the lamp post was lying beneath it. Lying on the ground on the side of the tractor-trailer that faces Cherry Hill Road was a set of traffic lights apparently knocked off of the post during the crash. A large portion of the pole, from a view visible only from Cherry Hill Road, appeared like a harpoon going through the rear of the truck's cab. Another traffic signal hung from the end of this portion of pole.
Police said crews would be at work to repair the damaged light pole and traffic signals.

I cant stand truck drivers. Especially ones who don't follow the rules of the road! No right turns are allowed at that intersection. There is an exit for that. He should be fined!

Too bad the guy didn't knock down that monsterous, useless eletronic sign hanging over Route 46 farther up toward Mountain Lakes, over the eastbound lanes.

The simple fact is that Union Truck Drivers get better training and have less accidents and this guy wasn't. Of course everyone is supposed to hate Unions today so this is what you get.

Danny boy, I have some news for you, you don't have to be in a corrupt union in order to be well trained. The fact is, independent truck drivers are better train from some companies than any union drivers. This company is a well respected trucking company with locations all over the U.S. CRST is out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and have many braches of that company. I know this for a fact because I spent many years driving a truck and owned my own trucking company. I used to drive over the road myself. So you are way off as always with that stupid remark you made. Learn the facts first before you open your trap sometimes. Unless you have been in our shoes you don't have the right to talk about these drivers or the money grubbing crooked unions, of which I was a member of as well.
