Former Parsippany police captain discovered break-in at Paine Court residence.
A trail of jewels led a retired township police captain to a burglarized home Sunday morning, Parsippany Police said.
According to police, retired Parsippany Capt. Michael Kennedy was driving on Armory Court at about 7:30 a.m. when he spotted a wooden drawer filled with jewelry sitting in the road. He also noticed a trail of jewels that led him to a residence on nearby Paine Court, police said.
