Trail of Jewels Leads Retired Cop to Burglarized Home
Former Parsippany police captain discovered break-in at Paine Court residence.
A trail of jewels led a retired township police captain to a burglarized home Sunday morning, Parsippany Police said.
According to police, retired Parsippany Capt. Michael Kennedy was driving on Armory Court at about 7:30 a.m. when he spotted a wooden drawer filled with jewelry sitting in the road. He also noticed a trail of jewels that led him to a residence on nearby Paine Court, police said.
The front door of the house had been forced open and the master bedroom was ransacked, police said.
Police said Parsippany detectives came to the residence, as did an investigator from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Section.
Rescue and Recovery also responded to secure the damaged front door, police said.
Parsippany Police continue to investigate the incident.
