UPS Expanding Solar Power Use at Par-Troy Center

The delivery firm recently completed construction of a 1.2 megawatt project at its distribution facility in the township.

The Jefferson Road United Parcel System is getting a green upgrade. Officials at the company said it's boosting its use of solar power at its Parsippany facility and at its location in Secaucus, according to a report in Transport Topics.

UPS officials said the expansion could produce enough energy from the two facilities to provide electricity to 300 homes each year.

Work for a 1.2 megawatt project at the Jefferson Road facility was finished recently. The Secaucus project, also 1.2 megawatt, is expected to be completed this spring.
