Memorial Day comes at the end of May, but the act of celebrating those who have served in the military is underway in Parsippany.
Mayor James Barberio helped kick off the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars Buddy Poppy Fundraiser Friday at Town Hall.
Since 1922, the Buddy Poppies, red flowers with an attached message of thanks and support, have been crafted by hospitalized veterans. They are considered an integral part of the VFW's work and the national show of support for those who have served.
