What Should Replace Good Fellas?

Good Fellas Italian Bistro and Grill, at 281 Littleton Road, offered a full menu of old-country specialties during its run. The 2,500 square foot one-story site, however, has been anything but full for more than a year, even as the familiar sign out front stands tall at the intersection of Littleton and Parsippany roads.

The site boasts a large parking lot and we think it looks as if it could use a little revitalization.

So what do you think would work for the space? Tell us what you would like to see in the comments. We will take your suggestions and pass them along to the person in charge of pushing bringing new businesses to Parsippany, Mayor James Barberio.

Please share your ideas. Your suggestion just may be the one to bring a new business into town and inject some life into a lonely spot. Share your thoughts below.

I think Powdermill Towing should buy the lot and use the space. They are crowded where they are now. Also the location is very difficult for in and out of the parking lot for anything else. Busy intersection with no easy left tuen in or out. Also place can use some planting to make it look better.

This is a great suggestion! It is a horrible location for a new business.

It's good location, with plenty of traffic and access off the highways. Started life as a Burger Chef (I worked there one horrible summer), how about a new burger joint? Upscale burgers are the rage, or dare I say it, a White Castle?

I'd think an "Old Time" style Dairy Queen would work there.

How about a GOOD bagel place! We don't have anything other than Dunkin' Donuts in the lake area.

We have the best bagels in North Jersey at Bagels of Parsippany at 294 Rt 46 West in Parsippany! We need more bagel places like we need a third armpit in the desert.

Howard's Bagels in Lake Hiawatha or Mountain Lakes Bagels on Route 46 are worth the drive!

Seems like bagel places are very hard to open and stay in business.

Yes, Windmill Hotdogs. Very popular franchise at the Jersey Shore and one in Westfiled. Best hotdogs and char-broiled burgers around (not that we have any good hotdog joints nearby) Hmmm, entreprenuerial lightbulb is going on, I could use a partner Natalie, think we could get along? :)

Yeah, I think an "upscale" burger joint like Red Robin or Smashburger would work, but I also think they need to rework that intersection. Maybe put in a double stoplight like there is on Rt. 46 at Smith Rd(I think that's the name) by the reservoir.

These are poor locations for food and/or fast food businesses. How about a doctor or dentist office. How about any kind of medical service office. Among the important issues is what would be the rent and other financial issues. You just can't just smack a business into a location because it is empty or someone likes Dairly Queen. It has to "work".

Does anyone know why this good Italian restaurant closed? If access to the parking lot was the problem, perhaps that limits the type of business that would be successful at this location.

I would love to see a Yogurtland go there. The one located on route 10 in Denville is always busy. They have a wonderful verity of softserv yogurts and toppings. It would be great to have one on this side of town. White castle would also be a nice addition to the town’s fast food franchises.
