What we expect to cover this week.
Budget talks will start winding down at the Township Council meeting Tuesday night. They'll discuss plans to authorize an emergency appropriation of $895,944 for retirement payouts.  On Wednesday, the public will have another chance to hear school board candidates outline their platforms at a special candidates night at the old Lake Parsippany Firehouse at 100 Centerton Drive. On Thursday, the school board can move on after months of debating the contract of Superintendent of Schools LeRoy Seitz. They should be able to focus on getting the budget approved on April 27, when it goes to voters. …
The Township Council should continue hashing out its budget at Tuesday night's meeting. And now that election season is getting underway, challenging candidates should be there, piping up about what the town should and shouldn't spend money on. We'll be posting after the meeting, so you can read about it here. Board of Education candidates kicked off their campaigns at last week's PTA candidates night. This week, they'll introduce themselves to Patch readers on video and we'll have coverage starting tomorrow. In other news, we'll have a story on Parsippany High School's spring musical …
What can you expect to read about on Patch this week?  Here are the highlights: Later today, we'll start a video new feature called "You Said It,'' where we post a new clip every day on the same topic. This week, we'll visit the Empire Diner on Route 46, where we asked people what makes a good diner and why they like the Empire.  Now that Parsippany's school budget has been approved—despite earlier threats from the governor—the public will get to weigh in at a  Tuesday BOE meeting held at the school board building at 7 p.m. With the deadline, and at least some of the politics, out of the way…
