About this column:
We ask a question every week. You answer. A video series. With the Board of Education elections this week, Parsippany residents are trying to find the best possible candidate for the job. This week, we asked residents what topics they feel the Board of Education should focus on for the upcoming year. Opinions were varied, but it’s clear that people have a stance on the subject. Every day this week, we will bring you an opinion from another resident. Have your own thoughts on topics that the BOE should focus on? Tell us in the comments.
We always hear about road projects in town to fix potholes, repave, or do other much-needed repair work throughout the township—but are the roads you hate getting that attention? This week, we asked residents what roads they feel should be repaired or are in need of changes to speed limits and other aspects. Opinions were varied, although a few focused on sections of Route 46. Every day this week, we will bring you an opinion from another resident.
As we gear up for school board elections, we thought we'd use our You Said It column to give the candidates a chance to speak to readers themselves about the issues. Each day this week, we'll feature video of a new candidate in the spotlight.
As school board elections heat up and township council candidates toss their hats in the ring, public discourse has gotten more interesting lately. We asked some residents what they thought were the most pressing issues d'jour, and here's what they said. Their answers ranged from rampant deer to nepotism. Every day until Friday, we're running their answers. Former Mayor Mimi Letts was among the interviewees, along with gadflies Pat Petaccia, Roman Hoshowsky and others.
As Jerseyans, we know our diners--and Parsippany residents are no exception. We know what separates a good diner from a mediocre one. Patch visited the Empire Diner on Route 46 and asked the experts, namely, waitresses and customers, to pontificate on great diners in general, and the Empire in particular. We learned the secret of balancing plates, the ingredients of "tropical waffles'' and what township residents Jack Reich and Carmen Iuele like for breakfast. The answers run all week in our new video feature, "You Said It.'' Look for another installment tomorrow.
