Kids, Read to a Therapy Dog at Lake Hiawatha Library on Thursday

Board of Education has its regular meeting at 8 p.m. Thursday night as well.

Improve your child’s reading skills with man’s best friend.

On Thursday at the library’s Lake Hiawatha library branch, there’s a program called ‘Read To A Dog.’

Children will practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a trained therapy dog during a 10-minute session. Sign up your kids for a session. The program is for children in grades K-3 and starts at 7 p.m. Registration is mandatory. Contact the Branch at 973-335-0952 to register or for more information.

Also, over at Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library, there’s Nursery Time at 10 a.m. The program is for babies and toddlers under the age of 2. Listen to a simple story picture books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, and complete a coloring sheet.

The Parsippany Troy Hills Township Board of Education has its regular meeting at 8 p.m. at Rockaway Meadow Elementary School  on Thursday night as well.

There’s an AA meeting from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Fellowship Hall of Parsippany United Methodist Church. Contact ckeller430@gmail.com for more information.

The Greater Parsippany Kiwanis Club meets every Thursday morning at 7:15 a.m. at Empire Diner, 1315 Route 46. Newcomers and visiting clubs are always welcome.
