This year Parsippany, Morris Plains, Riverdale, Mine Hill, Dover, and Rockaway have tested positive for West Nile Virus, the commission said. Routine protocol was followed by treating the adult mosquito populations in the affected areas and surveillance continues throughout the county.

“Protect yourself by using repellants, wearing long sleeves and long pants when possible, avoid areas with high mosquito populations at dusk and dawn and be sure to clean out any standing water on the property,” they said.
