The panel was moderated by Linda Wellbrock, Founder and CEO of Leading Women Entrepreneurs, LLC, which is an initiative to commend women entrepreneurs for their service and leadership as well as their contributions to their communities and to the state’s economic recovery. The five panelists included Ms. Pissott; Tina Wynn, COO and one of two principals at The Brown Wynn Agency; Patricia Claybrook, President and CEO of Jidan Cleaning; Liz Berman, President of Continental Food and Beverage, Inc. (CF&B); and Kiran Gill, President of PARS Environmental, Inc.
Ms. Pissott completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative--a $500 million national program designed to help small businesses in the United States create jobs and promote economic growth. As a certified New Jersey and New York State small and women-owned business, InGroup, Inc., is both qualified and certified to work with local and state agencies as a prime contractor subcontractor in leading public participation, education, and engagement activities for local, state, and federal agencies. “10,000 Small Businesses provided me with a renewed leadership perspective and, as a result, on completing the program in February 2013, revenue grew 64 percent—and we are on-track to exceed our growth goals for 2014,” said Ms. Pissott. Ms. Wynn and Ms. Claybrook were also alumni of 10,000 Small Businesses.
Ms. Pissott attended the program at LaGuardia Community College in Long Island City, New York, the first community college to participate in this initiative. 10,000 Small Businesses at LaGuardia Community College provides an opportunity for small business owners to explore and experiment within an environment in which participants can discover the most efficient paths to achieving their business goals.
