5 Things to Know This Week

Events taking place in Parsippany

Thanksgiving is over, the Christmas and Hanukah shopping season is underway and there is lots happening over the next week in Parsippany-Troy Hills. Here is a rundown of five events taking place this week:

  1. Seniors in need of a blood pressure check are in luck. The township's Office of Health offers all this week, Monday through Friday, at the at 1130 Knoll Road. The service is offered from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., but you must call ahead to make an appointment: 973-263-7160. 
  2. Calling concerned citizens: The Parsippany-Troy Hills Township Council meets for its at 7:30 p.m. at . Here's your chance to see your leaders in action and to have a say in Parsippany government.
  3. holds its , 91 N. Beverwyck Road, Thursday from 8-9:30 p.m. All members are strongly encouraged to attend, and any veteran of the Armed Forces living in the surrounding community is invited to attend and join. For more information, call 973-335-6676.
  4. Need your privacy preserved? ! You can have it taken care of for free Saturday at 9 a.m. at the , 903 S. Beverwyck Rd. At the event, SK Paper Shred will shred your confidential files on site for only $6 per box of letter or legal size paper. And if you care about the environment, don't fret: 100 percent of your shredded paper will be recycled. For more information, contact Jed Klimas at 973-875-3444.
  5. this Saturday and Sunday. The jolly old elf visits Condit House, Route 46 & North Beverwyck Road, to offer kids a chance to have their photo taken in an authentic Victorian holiday setting. The first photo is $5, and additional shots are additional $4 each. All proceeds go to the Parsippany Historical and Preservation Society. For information call Katie at 973 464-9594.
