5 Things to Know This Week

Important info for the next seven days

You've had your head and hands filled with holiday planning and the like. Here, you'll find information on a few happenings coming to Parsippany this week.

If you have municipal business to take care of, give it another day. Town Hall is closed Monday in observance of the day after Christmas.

If you're looking for something productive for your kids to do during holiday break, here is an idea:  holds its holiday vacation camp all this week at 1180 Route 46. The program has a Broadway theme and features games and activities devoted to the Great White Way and giving your child a chance to "Sing out, Louise." The theatre says slots are still open. Another idea to keep kids from six-12 occupied this week: The Lakeland Hills Family YMCA in Mountain Lakes is offering a special on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with excursions to Dave & Busters in West Nyack (Palisades Center), Liberty Science Center, Liberty Park (Jersey City), and Lazer 1 in Wantage followed by a fun afternoon of activities at the Y. Sign up for one, two or all three days. Non-members are welcome. More information can be found on the Lakeland Hills YMCA website.

If your child is even younger, here is holiday week event targeted to children 2 1/2 to five years of age. The Lakeland Hills Family YMCA in Mountain Lakes presents . Miss Ruthie will appear Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Y at 9 a.m. to entertain the wee ones. The price runs $25 per day for members, $45 per day for non-members. Seniors in need of a blood pressure check are in luck. The township's Office of Healthoffers  all this week, Monday through Friday, at the  at 1130 Knoll Road. The service is offered from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., but you must call ahead to make an appointment: 973-263-7160.
