Caldwell Police Chief to Retire

The Parsippany resident served on Caldwell's police force for 28 years.

Caldwell Police Chief Kurt Dombrowski is retiring, Caldwell Mayor Ann Dassing announced at Tuesday night's council meeting.

Dombrowski presented a letter of resignation to the borough on Friday. His last day will be Monday, Nov. 21, but he will be on the payroll through Jan. 1, 2012.

Dombrowski, a resident of Parsippany's Lake Hiawatha, has been with the department for 28 years.

"He wishes he could stay for another 28 years," the chief stated in his letter to the borough, according to Dassing.

The chief was not present at Tuesday night's meeting.
