Disposable Diaper Deals in Parsippany and Online

Today's Mother of All Deals starts a series focusing on deals for expectant and new mothers

I have several friends who are going to be new moms and they have lots of questions. That makes this the perfect time to kick of a multi-week series on saving money as a new mom.

This week is all about diapers.  It’s a shame we have to spend so much on something that gets pooped on, but here are some ways to save more than a few bucks.

The best go-to website is Baby Cheapskate.  Scroll down the page to find “Top Diaper and Formula Deals of the Week”.  On a weekly basis, the site provides a per diaper price at popular stores that we have in our area, including Walgreens, Target, Rite Aid and CVS.

The best price for diapers is most often at Amazon, through Amazon Mom. Join free and receive up to 30 percent off diapers and wipes through an immediate 15 percent discount and another 15 percent off ‘Subscribe and Save’ discount. This does set up a repeat-delivery arrangment, but, you can cancel with one click and never get a second delivery.  You also get three months of Amazon Prime, which provides free two-day shipping on many Amazon products (does not apply to your diapers/wipes, so plan ahead!).

Here is how this week’s diaper deals stack up for us in Parsippany:

Sometimes you will find better deals at brick & mortar stores, but checking out this website can save you a bundle.  Baby Cheapskate does a similar rundown on the prices of baby wipes.  You can check out this week’s post here.

Make sure you sign up for coupons from the major diaper manufacturers via these links: Huggies, Pampers and Luvs. That way when a sale strikes at a local store, you’ll have some coupons to pair with it.

A great place to search for available coupons of any type is Hot Coupon World’s Coupon Database, which lists coupons from the internet, circulars, home mailers, hang tags--you’ll find most coupons posted here. Enter the diaper's brand name as your search term to see available coupons. For instance, right now the database states that you can look in your coupon circulars from the July 1 newspaper and pull out two $1.50-off coupons for Pampers.  I keep my coupon circulars in an expandable file by month, so I can just pull the circular when I need a coupon.

There is a lot to be said for thinking ahead in regard to diapers.  Having diapers and wipes on hand saves time, energy and money, because you’re not making a quick run to the store to grab whatever is on hand.

One other quick tip that a friend recently shared with me is shipping diapers to your vacation destination to save on packing.  She orders from Diapers.com, a site that will deliver within two business days of ordering (before 6 p.m.).  Based on what I’ve seen Diapers.com is generally pricier than Amazon Mom, but deals can still be had there, so check it out.

Next week:  The reason we need diapers.  Finding deals on infant formula as well as baby food.
