Fun for Tots in Florham Park

Not too far east you'll find a fully fenced playground and other activities perfect for pre-schoolers

The Dale Anderson Jaycees Tot Lot is located toward the rear of Emmet Fields, a large sports complex just off Ridgedale Avenue in Florham Park. (Click here for a map.) You will snake past the Florham Park Public Library and platform tennis on your way to the playground.

This popular spot for little ones is fully fenced and has beautiful, relatively new equipment. There are bathrooms, picnic tables and shade to be found, making it a convenient spot to spend a few hours.

The equipment includes challenging stand-alone climbing walls and fun “tea cup” spinners.  There are cute games built into the primary playground system, including a turtle and hare race and bee and flower mazes with moving parts.

Enjoy tube and chute slides, swings, a see saw and more.

Bring soccer balls or other equipment to enjoy the multiple fields or just take a stroll around the complex. Summer camps are held here as are many town sports so depending on when you visit, the playground can be crowded.

If you get too hot or it begins to rain, there’s a large children’s section at the library or you can head to Imagine That!!! a  children’s museum just down the road.  Or, visit nearby Trader Joe’s for healthy snacks or Kyoto for hibachi and sushi.
