Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness:   Recipient of the “Chance for Success" scholarship

Each year, Realtor Jackie Scura of Re/Max First Choice in Parsippany awards her "Jackie Scura's Chance for Success" scholarship to a local high school senior. Scura said the scholarship is not just about academic achievement; she looks for a candidate who exemplifies a strong work ethic and shows potential for well-rounded success in life and career.  This year's recipient is a driven young woman named Sue-Jean Choi.

A 2011 graduate of Parsippany High School, Sue-Jean was selected for her exceptional ability to balance education, volunteering and work during her high school career.

She volunteered extensively and served as president of Operation Smile, vice president of the Arcola Korean Youth Group and computer teacher at the Southwest Senior Center. She also performed more than 50 hours of service in the Key Club.

Sue-Jean also held jobs at the Arcola Korean United Methodist Church and the Kumon Learning Center in Parsippany. And she kept up with her schoolwork in regular and honors-level classes. This fall she began her college career at Boston University to study hospitality management.

“I have no doubt that Sue-Jean has a bright future and will excel at whatever she puts her mind to," said Jacki Scura.
