Your weekend to-do list

What a wonderful weekend awaits! Much of what's offered has a holiday theme: Check out holiday crafts at the Alpha Delta Kappa Ladies' Bazaar in Parsippany or jewelry in Morristown. If you're not quite ready to ho-ho-ho, that's OK: Parsippany High School takes to the stage with "Moon Over Buffalo, M-town offers up its final farmers market of the season and they're doing things the Philadelphia way at Par-Troy's Temple Beth Am. There is so much to do---get out of the house.

Why Go: To do good for local women and children while shopping for holiday crafts provided by Alpha Delta Kappa, the women educators' sorority
Cost: Bring your wallet. 

Lafayette Learning Center's Clothing Drive
When/Where: Thursday, 6 p.m., at Lafayette Learning Center, Morristown
Why Go: Because they'll be clothes for a buck. A buck!
Cost: A buck!


When/Where: Thursday-Saturday, 7 p.m. at Parsippany High School, 309 Baldwin Rd, Parsippany
Why Go: To see Par Hills' thespians trod the boards.
Cost: $10 adults, $5 seniors, free for Par High students

Bridgewater Goes Green
Where/When: Friday at 11 a.m. at the municipal complex at 100 Commons Way.
Why Go: To celebrate Bridgewater being a sustainable town with a designation of the entryway into the municipal complex as a Green Street, and the award of a $10,000 green home makeover to a Bridgewater resident.
Cost: Free.


When/Where: Friday, 5-8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.; Sunday noon-3 p.m. at Mount Tabor's historic the Bethel, 26 Simpson Ave., Parsippany
Why Go: To kick off holiday shopping with cookies and do some good for the Mount Tabor Historic Society
Cost: Bring your wallet.

When/Where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 7 p.m. at Montgomery High School.            
Why Go: It’s a family-friendly version of the motion picture that’s meant to entertain everyone.
Cost: $10

When/Where: Friday 7 p.m. at the .
Why Go: Because it’s an exercise program that combines dance moves with high-energy music. And you’ll secure a spot in the 4-week series at the library.
Cost: Free.

Where/When: Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at Jefferson Township High School
Why Go: To check out some talented actors and actresses take on a great playwright
Cost: $8


When/Where: Friday and Saturday, 7 p.m. at the  Performing Arts Center, Basking Ridge.
Why Go: The Ridge Drama Club's production of this 1940s-era comedy is both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Reasonably priced drama with a professional-level set
Cost: $8 for adults and senior citizens, $10 for adults. Thursday's final dress rehearsal open to senior citizens for free.

In the Mood: A 1940s Musical
When/Where: Friday, 8 p.m., at Mayo Performing Arts Center, Morristown
Why Go: You want to hear the smooth sounds of some of that era's best-known artists.
Cost: $37-$52

Free Record Day
When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Scotti's Record Shop, Morristown
Why Go: You love the warmth of vinyl, especially when it's free.
Cost: Free

Jewelers Studio Guild Annual Fall Holiday Show
When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Morristown Masonic Center, Morristown
Why Go: You want to view or purchase unique pieces of jewelry.
Cost: Free to attend

When/Where: Saturday, 7:30 pm at , 879 S. Beverwyck Road, Parsippany
Why Go: To go hoppin' where things are poppin' and enjoy the hits of the 1950s-80s, dancing and food.
Cost: $25

Morristown Farmers Market
When/Where: Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Morris and Spring streets, Morristown
Why Go: It's the last farmers market of the season.
Cost: Bring your wallet

Turkey Trot
When/Where: Sunday, 8:45 a.m., at Mountain Park on Martinsville Road by Mountain Road, Basking Ridge. One-mile health walk begins at 9:30 a.m. and 5K run leaves the gate at 10 a.m. 
Why Go: All ages can stretch their legs one way or another the weekend before stuffing themselves on Thanksgiving. The 5K run and 1-mile health walk benefits the William Annin Middle School PTO. Participants are asked to bring nonperishable goods to donate to the FoodBank Network of Somerset County.
Cost: Preregistration $20, $25 on day of race

Temple Sholom Gift Fair
Where/When:
 Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Preschool Place and Kindergarten on North Bridge Street.
Why Go: Because it's time to buy those Hanukah gifts, and the temple's sisterhood will offer all kinds of items, including jewelry, handbags and kitchen gadgets.
Cost: Prices depends on items.

When/Where: Sunday, 3-9 p.m., American Legion Post Hall, 91 N. Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha
Why Go: To benefit Lake Hiawatha flood survivors and others by donating winter coats (drive runs Mondays through Saturdays, 3- 9 p.m., through Thursday, Dec. 15)
Cost: Free (well, a coat)


Where/When: Sunday, 7 p.m. at , 40 Maxim Drive, Hopatcong
Why Go: Because it's for all religions.
Cost: Free.
