Housing Partnership Director to Retire

Susan Zellman has led Morris County organization for 20 years.

Susan Zellman, founding executive director of the Housing Partnership for Morris County, has announced she will be retiring in March.

Zellman, who has also been a Sussex County freeholder for the past 12 years, including serving as freeholder director for the past two, has led the organization for the past 20 years in continuing its mission to provide affordable housing opportunities to residents throughout the county.

The Housing Partnership helps low-income families obtain home ownership and provides education programs and advice, as well as down payment assistance, foreclosure intervention and mortgage assistance, for people in need. Although the Partnership serves mostly Morris County, assistance is also available to residents in Sussex, Warren and other counties throughout the state. The Partnership is supported by United Way and a member of the NeighborWorks America Charter.

Zellman is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including from the League of Women Voters, Morris County Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce, Morris 2000, Mental Health Consumers of NJ and more. She is an active volunteer as well, serving on the Sussex County Planning Board and as chairwoman of the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, in addition to serving as a freeholder.

"Since its formation in 1992, Susan has led the Housing Partnership to tremendous growth and it has garnered recognition nationally and in New Jersey. Her dynamic personality, her skills, her passion for the work of the Partnership, her work ethic, and her broad range of relationships in the housing community and the political world have made the Housing Partnership one of the premier such agencies in the United States,” Bob Michaels, chair of the Housing Partnership, said in a press release.

The Housing Partnership will be looking for a successor to Zellman. Interested candidates can email Michaels at hr@hpnj.us

Susan has been instrumental in making the dream of homeownership a reality for hundreds of moderate-income families in Morris county and beyond. She has my admiration and respect. We will miss her!

Holy cow! "clyde," we've found a job for you. You're perfectly qualified to be a political hack, you even constantly spout useless and inane garbage! Congrats, "clyde." I can't wait to make snide and derogatory comments about your performance!

I'm not making a negative comment about Ms. Zellman. I'm commenting about the political climate in Morris County today, but I guess the "sick troll" is not bright enough to see that.

No, "clyde," I get what you're saying. You obviously miss my point, so I'll write it out in Crayola for you: you're no better than a political hack, and therefore completely qualified for this job! So you should apply, I'm sure they would be happy to have your energy and go get 'em attitude, as well as your expert knowledge of how everything should be done. I know we here at the various Patches are better and more well rounded for your brilliant commentary. That is sarcasm (sarcasm, -n: mocking, contemptuous, or ironic language intended to convey scorn or insult), by the way, in case you can't pick up on it "clyde." I know it doesn't always come across in Internet posts, but I figured since I'm usually calling you a grumpy old man who hates everyone and just wishes all these kids would get off his lawn and the damn lib'rels would stop taxing him and is convinced the government is conspiring to rip everyone off at least in his own mind, I thought it might be obvious. But with you, I guess I just have to explain everything, don't I? As for the snide and derogatory remarks, since that seems to be all you have to say about ANY public official, not just Mrs. Zellman, I'm sure you wouldn't mind it if others had the same types of things to say about you if you were in such a position, would you?
