Classes serving students in numerous North Jersey towns will be held in Parsippany and Morris Township.

The Italian School of New Jersey is preparing for a new semester of language lessons in Parsippany and Morris Township.

Classes in Parsippany are filled for children's sessions, but spots are still available for an intermediate/advanced class tailored to adults, according to organizer Natalia Bernini-Carri.

In Morris Township, the school schedule shows availability for both kids and adults.

The school teaches Italian language and culture at all levels to children from age 2 1/2 up and to adults.

The objective of the school, said Bernini-Carri, is to provide students with formal instruction, in hopes they'll gain the confidence to speak and write in Italian.

"Furthermore, we wish to provide an environment where all can celebrate Italian language and culture," she said. "As Italian natives living in New Jersey and mothers of bilingual children we recognized that having a structured environment where children can learn proper Italian language skills while interacting socially can greatly enhance [people's] sensitivity toward the Italian culture."

Classes are held Thursdays from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Parsippany Police Athletic League building at 33 Baldwin Road.

In Morris Township, classes are held at Morristown Unitarian Fellowship, 21 Normandy Heights Road. Two Wednesday sessions are offered: 4-5:30 p.m. and 6-8:30 p.m. Saturday classes are presented from 9:30-11:30 a.m. ,
