Whiz Kid's Accomplishment: Parsippany Pack 5 Pinewood Derby Grand Finals Winner

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:

Logan Weaver, a first grade Cub Scout at Mount Tabor Elementary School, was the Grand Finals winner of the Parsippany Pack 5 Pinewood Derby held on February 4.

Logan, keeping this year's western theme in mind, came up with the idea of shaping his car into an arrow "because arrows are fast".  His dad, Jeff, used a band saw to cut out the arrow shape but Logan spent close to 6 hours over a span of a few days sanding and painting the car himself.

To Logan's delight, his design engineering paid off.   The arrow-shaped derby car proved to be aerodynamically sound.   His race car beat out 72 other racers from  Pack 5 to win the trophy.
