Parsippany Offering Free C.E.R.T. Training for Residents in May

Weekend-long course will instruct citizens on disaster preparedness.

For the ninth time, Parsippany is offering a course for residents to learn more about emergency preparedness and response so citizens will be ready when the next disaster occurs.

The Citizen Emergency Response Team, or C.E.R.T., will train residents from Friday, May 16 to Sunday, May 18, free of charge, according to the Parsippany Police Department.

Residents will learn about fire suppression, first aid, search and rescue, team organization and response to terrorist incidents. Anyone who chooses to take the course does not need previous emergency experience.
