Parsippany Residents Want Proposed Power Line Bumped Into Montville

JCP&L's current preferred route impacts approximately 28 Parsippany homes.

Residents in Parsippany and Montville are saying the grass is greener elsewhere, and trying to have a proposed power line project moved to the other’s town.

The seven-mile, 230-kilovolt Montville-Whippany Reinforcement Project proposed by Jersey Central Power & Light has a “preferred route” that would go through the back yards of about 28 Parsippany homes.

According to nj.com, residents from Parsippany are asking for the route to be bumped a bit, though, that would bring the lines further into Montville.

One Montville official, according to the report, isn’t a big fan of the idea. Committeeman James Sandham said bumping the line over to his town would impact an untold number of residents, rather than just a couple dozen in Parsippany.
