Parsippany Restaurants Win Wine Spectator Awards

Tabor Road Tavern and Ruth's Chris Steak House win plaudits for their wine lists.

Two Parsippany-area restaurants earned honors from Wine Spectator magazine. The publication's list of 2011 Restaurant Wine List Awards winners includes Tabor Road Tavern, 510 Tabor Rd. in Morris Plains, and the Ruth's Chris Steak House located within the Hilton Parsippany at 1 Hilton Pl.

Ruth's Chris Steak House, known for its generous and pricey cuts of beef, both earned Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence. The magazine says wine lists featuring a selection of high-quality California vintages is a strength the eateries share.

Wine Spectator said a record 833 restaurants earned the Award of Excellence in 2011. The prize recognizes a wine list for "having a thoughtful selection of 400 or more wines" that features "solid depth or superior breadth in at least one major wine-producing region."
