Sen. Lautenberg's Staff to Field Questions in Morris County

State tournaments begin for basketball and ice hockey.

While the Parsippany High and Parsippany Hills wrestlers were knocked out of contention for a state championship over the weekend, the title quest begins this week for boys and girls basketball and ice hockey.

Here's a look at what else is happening:

Monday—State tournaments get underway as the girls basketball team hosts Lincoln High School and the  boys basketball team travels to face Newark Central. Both games tip off at 5 p.m. The Parsippany High ice hockey team also faces Mahwah in the state tournament at the Ice Vault in Wayne at 8 p.m.

Tuesday—The girls basketball team takes on defending North Jersey Section 2, Group 2 champ Chatham on the road in the opening round of the state tournament at 7 p.m.

Wednesday—Sen. Frank Lautenberg's staff will be at the Morris County Library in Whippany from 10 a.m. to noon, answering questions about federal issues and agencies, including the IRS, immigration, veterans affairs, medicare and social security.

Thursday—The will host Stop Cyberbullying, Part 2 from 7 to 8 p.m.  Det. Mark Castellano will provide a lecture for children in grades 3 to 12 on social, legal and civil implications of cyberbullying. The first part of the series was presented last week.

Friday—Two-time Tony-award winning actress Christine Ebersole will perform romantic music from the Great American Songbook at the Mayo Performing Arts Center at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $37 to $62.

Saturday—The Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown will host BeauSoleil's 35th Anniversary, an annual Mardi Gras celebration, at 8 p.m. The Grammy award winners will put its spin on cajun music. Tickets range from $42 to $67.

Sunday—The Frelinghuysen Arboretum in Morristown hosts From the Ground Up, a cabin fever movie series, from 2 to 4 p.m. "Dirt: The Movie" is an 80-minute documentary featuring how soil provides food, shelter and a source of medicine and culture.  The film will be followed by "The Farmers of Gaho," a 21-minute documentary about the unique techniques of southern Ethiopia's farmers. Preregistration is required. Cost is $5.
