Walk, Run, Jog or Donate to Fight Cancer in Montville

The weekend's to-do list kicks off with the annual Relay for Life in Montville.

There is a lot going on in the region this weekend, so there's no excuse to sit at home. Why Go: Support this overnight fundraiser for the American Cancer Society by joining teams of people taking turns walking or running around the track, while also enjoying great music, a ballroom dance exhibition, a comedic hypnotist and more.

 To grab your sneakers and run to breathe. Proceeds benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation and the cystic fibrosis community. There is a 5K run for all ages and a track-and-field competition for children kindergarten through eighth grade.

Why Go: There will be rides for children and adults of all ages, as well as games of chance like the number wheels you've seen at the Jersey shore boardwalks.

Why Go: The Bayers Children’s Theatre ends its 2010-11 series with this classic story of a bull who wouldn't fight. It's told by giant puppets in a narrated ballet with a larger-than-life bull, masked dancers and specialized mechanical figures.

Why Go: With the help of a naturalist, kids ages 7 through 10 will attempt to figure out what animals have been around, and what they’ve been doing.

Why Go: Kids ages 2 through 6 will enjoy an informative hike around  in Chatham.
