Sometimes you just have to beat the heat no matter what.

That's what one wondering bear did this week by swimming in Lake Parsippany for a while before animal control and law enforcement officials could corner the bruin and push it back into the woods, according to dailyrecord.com.

Police were able to herd the bear and shoot it with beanbags, forcing it to flee into the woods, the report said.

A perimeter was set up along Lake Shore Drive so residents could not come in contact with the wayward woodland creature, the report said.

Great Day In Pa-sippo-nong! The safety issue with Black Bear is over played. This guy is most likely looking for a mate he never found cause of the last four-hunts; which diminished the population, especially females, which don't range as much in prime core habitat. Remember: BEAR DESERVE RESPECT NOT GARBAGE.

So what!!!!! A Bear goes for a swim on a hot day, big deal. Don't the cops have anything better to do???? I am sure Bears go swimming all the time on hot summer days. You'll hear more reports this summer of bears with cubs swimming in someones back yard pool. When any animal gets to hot they want to cool down too.
