What's Open in Parsippany?

The short answer, post-Sandy: Not much.

Residents throughout the township are clamoring for information as to where to find food, gasoline, laundry services, heat and light. We hear you, and we are on the road—cell service is spotty at best—trying to find info for you.

This will be a running list of what we've found that we can confirm as being open. This list will grow (we hope) throughout the day. If you know and can confirm something we don't or can't, please add it in comments.

Does anyone know if the storage facility CubeSmart on Route 10 in Whippany was affected? Cannot find any news about Whippany. Were they flooded? I'm out of state and have valuable storage there, in a unit that's on the outside wall, like a garage. I'm pretty worried that the news will NOT be good. Called and Emailed twice, no reply. If anyone knows, please post. My heart goes out to you ALL. Stay strong, you WILL get through this! Katherine - A Jersey Girl in MA

I don't know about Whippany specifically, but this whole area got very little rain so flooding is not an issue. There are lots of trees and power lines down so there are lots of places without power and cell service is spotty. Your storage is probably ok, there's just no one there to answer the phone or access to email. Good luck!

Have been trying to get information; the administration is tight-lipped so far. Doing my best.

Katherine, My Mom lives five minutes from Cube Smart. Never lost power. Your unit should be fine. No flooding. But CubeSmart is raising their fees, hope you got their memo. My sister moved her two units out last week before the storm. She moved from PA to an apartment in Parsippany. The best storage place around and have the nicest people running it.Best of luck. sf
