Lots to do over the next seven days in Parsippany

The Parsippany-Troy Hills Planning Board gathers for its monthly Workshop Meeting to discuss how building applications match up with the township's Master Plan. The meeting takes place Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

The Parsippany Community Center provides Cancer Screening for Women Tuesday at 4 p.m. Testing includes pap smear and exam. Pre-registration is required and the event costs $60. For more information, call 973-263-7160.

Neighbors-Helping-Neighbors, a free peer-led volunteer support group for people actively looking for work meets Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. at the  at 68 Nokomis Ave. in Hiawatha.

PSGMC peer support group for job seekers meets Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library at 449 Halsey Road to hear guest speakers well-versed in all facets of career search and development.

The Parsippany Zoning Board of Adjustment meets Wednesday to discuss and approve (or deny) residential and commercial building applications. On this week's agenda is the return of the controversial application to place a Hare Krishna temple on Baldwin Road. The public is invited to attend. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

Parsippany Hills High School offers SAT and PSAT help for college-bound students this week. Lentz & Lentz PSAT/SAT Prep is offered at the Hills Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The program costs $399.

St. Paul's Church in Morris Plains hosts its annual St. Paul's MarktPlatz featuring a rummage sale, crafters and vendors, a silent auction, food for sale, books and children's games. The event starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church, at the corner of Hillview Ave. and Mountain Way.

High schoolers can get an early leg up on the Scholastic Aptitude Test. A Free SAT Practice Test in Parsippany will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Centenary College, 300 Littleton Road. A fully-proctored practice SAT will show teens what to expect in a test-like environment.

Friends of the Parsippany Library presents a Digital Preservation Session Saturday at noon at the main branch of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Free Public Library at 449 Halsey Road. The company Digital Memory Media will preserve collections on print, photographs, slides andaudio-visual material including VHS, 8mm and 16mm movies for individuals. This is a benefit the library—20 percent of the revenue goes to the Friends of the Parsippany Library. 

See way-cool cars, trucks and more at the Parsippany Rescue and Recovery & Fire District 3 Second Annual Car Show. The event, which benefits the volunteer rescue organizations, takes place Sunday at 11 a.m. at The Summit Mortgage Company, 300 Lanidex Plaza. Admission is $15.

Try your luck at St. Peter the Apostle Church's Weekly Bingo. It's easy to play, you can win prizes and it's free! The event is held Sundays from 6-10 p.m. at 179 Baldwin Road.
