One of the more than 130 trees planted at Wyndham Worldwide locations was placed at the company's global headquarters in Parsippany last week to celebrate Arbor Day.

Wyndham Chairman and CEO Steve Holmes and Brian Schenk from the Arbor Day Foundation, as well several Wyndham Worldwide associates and their children as part of the company’s Take Your Kids to Work Day festivities participated in the event last Thursday.

Wyndham Worldwide and its Wyndham Vacation Ownership group also received the 2011 National Arbor Day Award for its dedication to planting and celebrating trees and conservation efforts. The annual award honors innovative and extraordinary individuals and organizations that represent the highest standards of tree planting and conservation practices.

Wyndham Worldwide has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation for several years. Wyndham Vacation Ownership resorts around the world serve Arbor Day Foundation coffee, which comes from shade-grown beans and growers who live in three different villages in Peru’s rain forest.

By purchasing coffee grown underneath the rain forest canopy, Wyndham Worldwide helps preserve vital rainforests and the ecosystems it supports. This partnership also supports the farmers, their families and entire communities in the rainforest region by ensuring fair wages and better access to healthcare, housing and schools for workers and their families.
