'Enchanted April' a Magical Experience

The Women's Theater Company presents 'Enchanted April' at the Parsippany Arts Center.

Looking for a quick escape? Take a journey to the Italian seaside with four lovely English women as they rediscover life and love in "Enchanted April."

The production, directed by Executive Artistic Director Barbara Krajkowski, is presented by The Women’s Theater Company, a professional troupe of local and regional actors at the Parsippany Community Center’s theater.

The story follows four mismatched English women looking for an escape from their dismal lives as wives and widows. The colorful characters; Lotty Wilton (Patricia Durante), Rose Arnott (Nancy Kutzer), Caroline Bramble (Ashley Kowzun) and Mrs. Graves (Karen Case Cook) find rejuvenation in the walls of an Italian castle, where entertaining asides from the castle’s housekeeper Costanza (Michelle Danna) keep the characters—and audience—laughing.

The men of the production, Mellersh Wilton (Larry Wilbur), Frederick Arnott (Stewart Schneck) and Antony Wilding (Jason Szamreta) keep pace with the ladies, providing some well-placed moments of affection and wit.

Running only two hours with an intermission, the play is a perfect mix of emotional and comedic qualities that keeps the audience on its toes. A perfectly-sized production, patrons will find themselves up close to the action in the quaint theater, effectively bringing the experience to life.
